Triathlon Training Day 14 – Swim and Run

Back in the groove and feel pretty darn good.  I swam in the morning, working on my legs and my kick, and then ran in the afternoon.

My workout was as follows:

Swim (AM) – 300 meters warm-up using flippers only.  100 meters using paddles and flippers.  100 meters of breathing exercises. 100 meters swimming using flippers and no paddles. 300 meters using flippers only.  100 meters using flippers and paddles.  100 meters using flippers and no paddles.  100 meters just flippers.  Total = 1200 meters

Run (PM) – Warm-up of 800 meters.  Then 6 sets of 400 meters at 5K pace.  Each 400 meters at 5K pace was followed by 400 meters of a recovery run.  Then ran 3 sets of 200 meters at a 1M pace (pretty much as fast as I felt comfortable running and still keeping my form).  Each 200 meter set was followed by 200 meters of recovery jogging.  Once that was completed, jogged for 800 meters at a recovery jog.  Then continued to jog, slowly, until I reached the 8 mile mark.  Total = 8 miles.
